In this episode, you get to hear me sounding a little too earnest in the beginning before settling into a round of questions with Democratic U.S. Senate candidates Dale Cardwell, Josh Lanier and Vernon Jones (listed in order of appearance).
They were all at the Jefferson-Jackson dinner, which is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Georgia Democratic Party.
Earlier in the day, Senator John Edwards dropped out of the race for president, leaving about 13 percent of Georgia's Democratic primary voters without a candidate to support. Frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had been in a dead heat prior to that, so Edwards' exit has the chance to sway the race to one candidate or the other. I asked the Senate candidates for their thoughts on how that would turn out.
The JJ dinner took place Jan. 30, 2008.
