Create your own podcast

This CNET article provides a good basic overview of how to create and distribute podcasts.

Amber and I use an Olympus DS-2 digital recorder for field interviews, and a M-Audio Nova condenser mic plugged into a M-Audio MobilePre USB Mobile preamp for "studio" segments. (The studio is actually my apartment.) What's neat about the MobilePre is it's powered by USB, so it's very portable. The setting is much less important than the equipment, as a good condenser mic will be forgiving with background noise.

Podcasting Guide

Want to find out what programs are available for listening and subscribing to podcasts? How about creating your own? Or maybe you just want a simple definition, because so far no one has been able to give you a straight answer as to what the hell a podcast is (and what it isn't).

Well, the Unix and Linux Podcasting Guide from RootPrompt is pretty much the end-all, be-all of podcasting resources. Check it out if you use Mac OS X, Linux, or Unix. There's good general information there for Windows users as well, but you'll have to download utilities elsewhere.
