BlogHer '07 Conference This weekend, Rusty and I will be heading to Chicago for the third annual BlogHer conference! I'm looking forward to attending lots of great sessions and meeting a bunch of people whose blogs I've been reading for months or years. We'll also be hanging around Chicago for a few extra days after the conference for general vacationing goodness - a baseball game, a surgical museum, and a chick hatchery, among other things. Standard issue, really.

If you'll be at BlogHer, say hi if you see us. And yes, we'll be recording a podcast (maybe more than one). This will be the furthest OTP we've gone so far!

Rusty and I recorded this first-day-of-summer talkie on the roof of our apartment building, overlooking the city. Topics include:

  • We might have to stop doing improvs in the Mostly ITP introductions, because they're getting too hard to think of. Unless, of course, our listeners want to help us think of new ones.
  • Almost a year after taking up pole dancing, I'm getting my own stripper pole! It will be installed in our apartment very soon.
  • Masonry tips from Rusty. He's been quite the handyman lately and shares some things he's learned.
  • In July, we'll be going to Chicago for BlogHer and general vacationing.
  • I need a new computer. I'm trying to resist the inevitable, but it is, indeed, inevitable.
  • Twitter question from Laura
  • We're going to a sex club tonight (June 22). We mention it, and promise a follow-up podcast.

In this talkie, Amber and I talk about lots of things that have been going on in our lives the past few weeks and take live questions via Twitter. It went sort of like this:

  • Twitter sucks us in, and now we can't escape. Questions from Grayson and Michael Bailey taken over Twitter are answered as we record.
  • We moved, which explains the even lower than usual sound quality of this episode. Here are the photos of our apartment we mentioned.
  • Experiences from PodCamp NYC. Amber has a question for John Havens, one of the organizers.
  • Amber is kicking around ideas for a new conference and would like to hear your suggestions.
  • We're heading to Chicago for BlogHer July 27 and 28.
  • Discussion of Atlanta's Web 2.0 community. We even said "Web 2.0" without a hint of irony.
  • Amber's blog is turning five! Party at Manuel's next Friday.
