Mostly ITP
Amber and Rusty podcast about whatever strikes their fancy, which generally are things and issues inside Atlanta's perimeter.
Interview - Stacia Farabee, the Kinky Agent
May 1, 2008 - 8:20am
by Amber Rhea
In this episode we talk with Stacia Farabee, Realtor to Atlanta's kink community. Check out her web site, MyKinkyAgent.com.
I know I probably got a little repetitive in the interview, but I just love this idea. It really shouldn't be a revolutionary thing to market one's services within one's own community, so why aren't we seeing more self-proclaimed kink-friendly professionals? I'm envisioning a possible social network around this concept; like FetLife except for business!

LIVE Talkie - listener voicemails, Sex 2.0, rants about the media
April 6, 2008 - 9:27pm
by Rusty Tanton
Our first-ever live talkie on Talkshoe wasn't too much of a catastrophe, other than Comcast cutting us off about 12 minutes in. We only lost about three minutes out of 30. Here's what we talked about:
- Voicemails from Griftdrift and Nobilis in response to our last talkie where we got weird and existential
- Discussion about Sex 2.0
- Responses to the Atlanta Press Club ethics panel session
Thanks to everyone who tuned in! Please leave your thoughts in the comments here, by emailing us at info@gapodcastnetwork.com, or by leaving us a voicemail at 678.389.9441. We'd love to hear what you liked and didn't like about the live format, or existential rants.

Interview - Tom Query, Atlanta photographer and sex therapist
March 24, 2008 - 9:35pm
by Amber Rhea
In this episode, Rusty and I talk with Atlanta photographer Tom Query. Check out his work at WellspringArts and on Flickr. We discuss how the advent of digital photography has affected the idea of professional versus amateur photography, and what types of challenges commercial photographers face these days. Tom is also a sex therapist and he's coming to Sex 2.0, so we talk a bit about that as well.

Talkie - Questions and comments from Twitter, road trip thoughts, ruminating on permanence, iPod Touch vs. iPhone
March 10, 2008 - 12:51pm
by Rusty Tanton
We recorded this talkie on the road while staying at the Brady Inn in Madison, Georgia. Topics discussed include, but are not limited to:
- Places we stopped on the first day of our road trip: Social Circle, Greensboro, Eatonton, Madison
- Question from Nobilis via Twitter: will pole dancing become an accepted art form by the year 2040?
- Ruminating on the permanence of our records: will there be any trace of us in a couple of hundred years?
- Should I buy an iPod Touch or an iPhone? We received several responses on Twitter. (postmortem: I almost bought an iPod Touch before I found out I could get an iPhone without messing with our cell phone plan, so I ordered an iPhone)

Talkie - Listener comments, Strippers Ball, Presidential delegates, social media conferences, Sex 2.0 updates
February 17, 2008 - 11:56pm
by Amber Rhea
Halfway into February, it's time for our first talkie of 2008. This screenshot should give you an idea of what to expect:

Here's a little more detail:
- We play two voicemail messages from Nobilis. In the second one, he asks a question, and we answer.
- Why the heck haven't you people called in your creepy bug/snake stories?
- We went to Trapeze last night and I was in the poorly-conceived (or at least poorly-executed) "Strippers Ball," for a minute at least.
- Talk of the Strippers Ball leads to a tangent about sex clubs in theory vs. practice, and annoying drunk people.
- Can anyone give us a good, clear description of how delegates work in the Presidential election?
- Thoughts on social media conferences in general, and a bit on PodCamp Nashville specifically
- Sex 2.0 updates, and promo

In our first movie review podcast in 13 months (can you believe that?), Rusty and I review the 1946 Disney film and subject of much lore Song of the South, and the 1970 Rolling Stones tour documentary Gimme Shelter.

Talkie - Listener comments, hotel porn reviews
December 15, 2007 - 7:32pm
by Rusty Tanton
We start off by reading several listener comments we received on recent podcasts about sex clubs, which have been attracting many new listeners. One couple listening propositioned us, which was very flattering.
Then we move on to the next order of business. We took a road trip about a week ago, stopping through Augusta, Ga., Columbia, S.C., and several small towns. Amber had never seen any hotel porn, so when we were in Columbia we decided to pay for a couple of movies: Screw My Wife Please 50: And Make It an Orgy! and 3 Blowin' Me. Reviews within.
Also included: a PSA for 2007 International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

Interview - David Kaufman, author of Peachtree Creek
December 8, 2007 - 10:54pm
by Amber Rhea
Have you ever heard of Peachtree Creek? If you live in Atlanta - especially if you didn't grow up here - your knowledge of Peachtree Creek might be limited to seeing a sign where it crosses under certain Atlanta roads.
David Kaufman wanted to find out more about the creek, so he explored the whole thing via canoe and wrote a book about it. In this interview, we talk about the book, what his "field research" was like, the buried Atlanta history he found along the way, and also the current issues with water management and conservation in Georgia.
